I am actually not trying to provoke a fight but I figure she is in the public eye and must have a staff around her so I am curious

How is Dr Laura saying the N word over and over again in a rant that was basically insulting a woman in an interracial marriage something that we should all think is perfectly fine

but at same time David Letterman making a joke about her oldest daughter who had a baby out of wedlock (I saw the episode the joke in no way was pointed at the young children) should be fired for his joke which did not include any swears or offensive terms

I just do not understand why one is ok and the other is not

The joke was not at all aimed at the younger daughter and anyone with an iota of decency can admit that. The younger daughter is who? No one..no one knows her name and she is basically unknown to the public so why would the joke be aimed at her and not the sexually active daughter?

Also big difference between HBO and network TV…and the usage which is why when Jon Stewert says Kike it is not the same as a KKK member saying it…this is human society 101
mesham > No i think you missed it by a wide margin but since you wish to metaphorically invest faster than light travel and go to the other side of the universe to miss the joke’s point entirely….that is up to you. I can only talk about reality and that fact that a joke about a sexually active daughter would have been a joke about the daughter who did have a kid out of wedlock AND became a public figure during Palin’s VP run combined with a govt official caught in a sexual scandal…it’s pretty clear as day
Teekno> I probably could if I had the ambition….but unless you are sending me a paycheck I don’t see the need. I do remember it but hey maybe she never personally said that in which case I am wrong. But if I am, and let’s assume i am…she still supports one person’s offensive speech will protesting another’s. Her right to be sure….but something I do find alarm with for someone who wanted to be VP and who gives major indicators she does intend to run for high office at some point
